3rd Captains Meeting Wild Bull Darts League 2010 Our Place – 29th March 2010 – 6.30PM _______________________________________________________________________________________ ► The biggest news of this meeting is that Pig i/t Dip has closed it’s doors. Johnny and his team were there since the beginning we started our Darts League, now 5 years ago. I regret that one of the founders and committee member had to leave our league and close his business due personal reasons. I wish him all the best and maybe we will see him again when he comes back on holiday. The teams who still have to play against Pig i/t Dip are bye until further notice. There is a small change a new team is coming into the league, taking Pig i/t Dip’s place. But until then the teams against the Pig will win with 8-0. From the moment this new team is replacing Pig i/t Dip it will also take their points. In case we can not find a new team in a few weeks time (before next meeting) all points won against Pig i/t Dip will be deducted in the ranking. Because Johnny is going back to Scotland we had to find another committee member. Rob – Target bar – is willing to take over this job until at least the end of the season. ► Cancelled matches or results that haven’t been sent through: Suters – Pig i/t Dip (07/03) Nassus’ Nutters – Chipeque (28/03) Our Place – Woodys (21/03) Nassus’ Nutters – Our Place (14/03) Happy Days – Nauta B (14/03) Our Place – Trapdoor B (07/03) Nauta B – Woodys (07/03) Exiles – Target B (07/03) Could you please update me with your results!!! ► At the last meeting there was a suggestion if a team wins a match with 8-0 because the other team forfeited, this team should not get the singles, doubles and trebles points. We have discussed this at the committee meeting and we believe there is no reason why this team should not get these points. After all, they are victim because the opposing team cancelled the match at the very last minute or didn’t show up at all. The rule is already there for many seasons and it’s for everybody the same and we are not planning to change it because we believe it is the most correct way. ► Doubles KO Competitions 11th April 4PM We will only draw players per venue, matches will be drawn on the day. 1st and 2nd divisions are separate. Women are in a separate competition than men (but 1st and 2nd division together). Each player will pay 5€ to enter. This money will be refunded in case of presence, if a player is not present his/her money will go to the bar. 40 teams (80 players) got registered: 4 women's teams, 17 teams 2nd div and 19 teams 1st div. 5 venues got drawn: Barracuda for the ladies doubles, Trapdoor and Manneke Pis for the 2nd division and Exiles and Cosy Corner for the 1st division doubles. ► Handicaps KO Competitions Different than other season we will play the Handicaps KO Comp during the whole 2nd half way of the season and not on one long and boring day after the end of the season. We will now draw the preliminary round and the 1st round of this Handicap KO so by next meeting I can give you the schedule with your handicap points. Handicap points are based on the results of half way season. Therefore it is very important to have all your games played by then. The handicap points system remains the same: the 1st team of the 1st Division has 0 handicap points. The 2nd team 10 handicap points, etc. The 1st team of the 2nd Division has the same points as the 3rd last of the 1st Div, the 2nd of the 2nd Div has the same points as the 2nd last of the 1st Div and the 3rd of the 2nd Div has the same handicap points as the last team of the 1st Div, the 4th of the 2nd Div has 10 handicap points more than the 3rd, etc. I will give you a copy how to program the machine for handicapping. As other KO competitions there will be a new draw after every round. Pig i/t Dip is also in the draw. In case we have not found a new team by then, the team drawn against the Pig will have a bye. Numbers 1 till 22 go in the draw and 12 numbers will come out. These 12 teams will play in the preliminary round. The 1st team coming out of the draw plays home against the next team coming out of the draw, etc. 6 winners of the preliminary rounds, we’ll call them numbers 23 till 28, are going back into the bag to draw the 1st round (16 teams). The winning teams who have got a home game in the preliminary round will automatically have an away match in the 1st round and visa versa. In the 2nd round we will do our best to give the away teams of the 1st round again a home match, if necessary we will do a draw, same with the 3rd round. This Handicap Competitions’ draw has no influence on the other KO competitions. This means if you have a home match in the Handicaps you will still be in the draw for the other KO competitions. The team who wins the finals of this Team Handicap Competition will enter for free in the next season. The draw has been done and can be seen on this website in KO Competitions 2010 ► Next Captains meeting at Barracuda 10th May 2010 - 6.30PM Topics of the meeting: - Trebles KO Competitions, each division separate.
