“Wild Bull” Steel - Tip Darts League

Playing Rules

These rules are our rules and can differ from any other dart league.

Each Match will be divided into 8 games. They are as follows:

  1. 4 singles - Best of three 501
  2. 2 doubles – Best of three 501
  3. 2 Trebles games (3 players) – One leg 701

Each player registered for the singles and doubles on the game sheet must play at least once during the trebles games.

Each game will consist of the best of 3 legs apart from the trebles games, which will be 1 Leg.

To begin the away team will throw first for the bull, the player nearest to the bull will start the game. The second player can ask for a dart outside the 25/bull area to be straightened up and those inside to be removed, if they feel it will impair their throw.

If the legs are tied 1-1 the away team then throws again nearest to the bull, to determine throwing order for the deciding leg.

Players shall provide their own darts if not the darts will be provided through the bar where the match takes place. Of course these darts have less quality.

All darts shall be thrown deliberately, one at a time, by and from the hand.

A throw shall consist of a maximum of “3” darts.

If a player, during a throw, touches any dart that is in the dartboard, then that throw shall be deemed to have been completed.

Any darts bouncing off or falling out of the dartboard shall not be thrown again.

Any dart falling out of the dartboard before the throw has been completed and the darts retrieved shall not count. Normally the machine discounts automatically if needed. If it doesn’t the referee corrects the score manually.

Each match or Leg shall be played with a straight start.

Each match or Leg shall be played with a double finish; i.e.: to finish, and win, the player must land a dart in the double (double ring or Bull) of the number equal to one half of the remaining score.

The Bull shall count as “50” and if a score of “50” is required to complete a leg or match, the Bull shall count as double “25”.

The Bust Rule shall apply; i.e.: if a player in a throw scores more points than remain in the Leg or match, or the same points as remain without finishing on a double, or leaves a score of “1”, then that throw shall not count and the score shall remain as it was prior to that throw. Normally this shall be done automatically by the dart machine.

The first player who finishes by obtaining the required double out shall be declared the winner of the Leg or match, whichever is applicable.

In a match, divided into Legs, the match shall be played “best of three” Legs (except for the team game, only 1 leg); i.e.: the first player that wins a majority of the given number of Legs shall be the winner of the match and the remaining Legs, if any, shall not be played.

A dart shall only score if the point remains in or touches the face of the dartboard, until after the throw has been completed, and the score has been recorded on the scoreboard.

Darts that stick in the plastic wire are to be removed with no score. A correct score might be needed.

Darts shall be retrieved from the dartboard by the thrower, after the score has been recorded by the dart machine.

A protest about the score attained, or called, after the retrieval of the darts shall not be upheld.

Errors by the dart machine shall stand marked on the scoreboard unless corrected, by the referee and before the player, whose score is in error, takes out his darts from the dartboard.

A referee can be any volunteer.

If the game is still not finished after 20 rounds, the referee shall count manually until it is finished as the dart machine is limited on 20 rounds.

We are a “Fun” league. This means that every Sunday should be a funny day for everybody no matter who wins or loses!

If a team doesn’t keep itself to the rules the committee is allowed to throw this team out of the league at any time.
