2. Meeting opened at 6.40pm at Veronicas (Bernie's Boys).

3. Minutes of the previous Captains & Committee Meetings
These were agreed as a true record.
Raf explained that the 2nd Committee meeting on 24th January was canceled, due the overload of his work and the illness of Steve K., and it was hold just before this captains meeting at 5pm at Pig i/t Dip. Apologies were Steve K. due illness and Davy due holiday.
4. Island Connections:
Raf explained that Island Connections might be interested to publish our results in their famous news paper every two weeks. This is not definite yet but Henry Cruz, sales manager of Island Connections, promissed to keep us informed very soon, probably this following week.

5. Complaints about the board at Clansman.
There were complains about the board at Clansman on Sunday 20th January from both teams, Clansman & Toscales. The board was not registering correctly almost every throw, said Kev (Clansman) and Bob (Toscales).
Raf explained that he was informed about the problem by Phill (Clansman) on this same Sunday arround midday. It was impossible for him to fix this problem as he was on a holiday for a few days. Raf asked: “if there is a problem with your board or you think it needs a turning or replacement don’t wait until the last minute to tell me. Recalibrating a board might take a long time and sometimes impossible to do on a Sunday. Also I like to play a game of darts on a Sunday afternoon instead of repairing a dart board”.
Give Raf at least the possibilty to repair your dart machine before Sundays so inform him about your problems during the week.
6. Sponsors Knockout Competitions.
Raf stated that there were already 2 sponsors for the Knock Out Competitions: Bar El Momento (brought in by Raf) sponsors Doubles Knock Outs and Judicare (brought in by Johnny Pig i/t Dip) sponsors Singles Knock Outs. These sponsors are on the website during the whole season 2008 and will be visable on every paperwork concerning our league. They will also be invited for our presentation night.
“Kev (Clansman) the Mechanic” who was presenting Clansman at the meeting offered us his sponsorship for the Trebles Competitions. He will be on the website very soon. Johnny said that he might have 1 more sponsor very soon. Also Steve Kelly let me know by email that Unicorn will sponsor again the 100€ for the Team Handicap Knock Out Unicorn Trophy. These 100€ will go the the winning team of these Knock Outs to pay their registration fee for the next dart season. Of course Unicorn will be on the website with the logo
7. Results
Raf was very happy that he received the results almost every time on schedule except for Britannia Inn (3X) and Cosy Wanderers (1X).
Raf explained again that he needs the results by midnight (but preferable earlier!!!) on Sunday. He then sends them to Bram (Delerium Boys) who does the website and he is putting it all on line every Monday morning. Also, if there will be an agreement with Island Connections they are also demanding the results latest on Sunday night (every 2 weeks) because of their deadline.
At the committee meeting was discussed some possiblities what can be done to introduce a sort of fine or do something in return for those who don’t send the results on time. A number of suggestions were submitted, these are as follows:
a. A large fine is made on each bar owner for late results.
b. Teams are deducted points.
c. Bars become illegible to host a meeting or Venue for a Knockout.
Other possibilities are:
a. Teams are asked to run bare arsed around the church square in Los Christianos (Steve Kelly).
b. Bar owner or teamcaptain (the person responsable for sending the results) does the entertainement and presentation during the whole presentation night (Raf).
c. Deducting free beer tickets from that bar for the presentation night (Johnny) From now on Raf registers who is not sending the results on time.
He also asked to text your results instead of calling him because sometimes it is impossible for him to pick up the phone.
After some discussion it was felt not to charge any fine yet but the home team is staying responsable for sending the results. BUT: The barowner or captain of the home team needs to send the results first and then sign the results sheet. It is to both teams to check if this really had happened.
8. Raf was asked a few times why the results are not distributed anymore to the bars.
He explained. “I have done the investment to built up a website for everybody and also to make it easier for myself. One of the reasons is because the results were almost never send on time. He always had to wait and wait for the results (and often they were never send) to then distribute them. It often happend that he had to change his work plans because of this all. Sometimes it happend that he still did not receive the results by the end of the week.
He stated that the website is especially created for the league and all the information arround it and it’s now up to everybody to use it where it is built for: printing of the results, reading league- and playing rules, reading the minutes of the meetings, getting information of all the bars and players, printing of the (empty) results sheets in case you lost yours, getting the latest news about Wild Bull, etc”.
Because of this the committee decided that the results will not be distributed anymore (see minutes Committee meeting 28th December or at the website), bars without internet connection could ask the captains or players (or friends) to print them a copy. Other bars could collect a copy from locally situated bars. Johnny (Pig i/t Dip) & Luc (El Sol) said they are happy to help you with a copy weekly: “That’s why there is a Committee to help each other”, they said. They have a computer in their bar but of course it’s up to you to go and collect your copy. Raf did not understand that since this system is introduced (not distributing the results) the most of the bars don’t even do the effort to print of a copy to hang up in their bar, although a lot of players would like to see theirs and other teams results.
9. Pictures – Information about teams and players.
Again Raf has received nor pictures nor information about the teams and players except from Target who did send their players pictures. Again, a few promisses were made. Help building up the league’s website and send your pictures (+ team pictures), names, nicknames, birthdays, tel. nrs, email adresses, etc. from all your players at:
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
Raf offered again his service if you are unable to take the pictures yourself.
10. Dispute during the match Manneke Pis – Suters between two players about the score and whether it has been corrected or not. In this case it doesn’t matter who was wrong or wright but a few swearwords were used while it shouldn’t: THIS IS A FUN LEAGUE, TRY TO KEEP IT THIS WAY.
For not having any problems and misunderstandings anymore in the future: “Before correcting your incorrect score you first inform your opponent about it and then make the correct score. In case you haven’t shown your incorrect score to your opponent he/she will be in the right and points will be adapted in his advantage in the following throw (agreed at the Committee meeting as a new Playing Rule).
11. Balance League Fund:
-          + 1.671€ previous season
-          + 1.150€ regsitration fees
-          + 200€ sponsorship El Momento & Judicare
-           - 70€ (50£) 1000 football cards -
            Total balance 2951€
Raf didn’t give much of explanation. The figures show for them selves. There were no questions or remarks about the balance.
12. Tenerife’s International Wild Bull Darts Event in September 2008:
“September this year Merlin Technologies USA (manufacturer Wild Bulls) and their distributers and operators all over the world (including myself) are organizing a big dart weekend event in the South of Tenerife (area Las Americas – Los Cristianos). Every country who is organizing tournaments and leagues on the Wild Bull machines will send a few of their best players to Tenerife to participate at this tournament. The winners/best players of each country (between 3 or 6 per land) will have their flights and their stay in a hotel for free as a reward for playing on the Wild Bulls and participating in Wild Bull Darts League. The tournament runs to over 2 or 3 days. What this means for me and for you I still can’t tell exactly, this will be discussed and decided during one of the Wild Bill Distributors and Operators Committee Meetings. Very shortly I will introduce a sort of point system in the league, organize extra tournaments in your bars, etc. Where, when, how, who and more questions will be given as soon as I have more details. In the future you can find more details on my website and the manufactuter’s website (there is a link to it on mine). Like I mentioned, this is only meant for players of the Wild Bull Darts Leagues”, said Raf.
From the darts-tenerife.com website you can also download the 1st “BullSheet", a new small newspaper with information about Wild Bull worlwide.
13. Singles Competitions trophies sponsored by Judicare
As a trial
- No participation fee was charged because it was felt that the money that was received with the knock outs in previous seasons can now be covered with the sponsorship of the trophies. Because of this more registrations were expected and it became a fact.
- The partners draw will be done at each venue individual on Sunday so that nobody will know his partner in advance.
- In stead of providing raffle prizes, like the Committe suggested before, bars are asked to sell the football cards at 2€ a go: 20€ will go to the league fund, 20€ to the bar to pay the games and 40€ will go to the winner of the footballcard. Every bar is allowed to sell more cards but at these same conditions.
- Following the amount of players 4 venue got drawn
- Then the names of the players were drawn per venue
At the end of the draw a few changes were done for some people being on their own at the venue and not having any transport to it.
It was a big succes: 62 players were registered at the meeting and 2 on the next day. Raf had to cancel 2 more players to have left a perfect schedule of 64 registrations, which is a record! Everybody was happy about the draw and because of its succes we will probable not charge any money for the Doubles Knock Outs (will be discussed and decided during the following Committee meeting).
14. Next Meeting
Because of St. Patricks day on the 17th the next meeting will be a week earlier on the 10th of March at 6.30PM at Cosy Corner.
The Doubles Knock Outs & Committee meeting(s) will be discussed.
15. Questions/remarks
Raf was asked to get more information/tel.nrs about the captains and other players of each team. In case the bar owner is unreachable one of the players can be informed about canceling the match or any other problem.
Raf replied that he was waiting weeks and weeks to receive this information of everybody to put on the internet (see point 9).
16. There been no further business the meeting was closed at 8.40pm, the minutes will be produced in draft form, put on the website and reviewed as a true record at the next meeting.
