2. Meeting opened at 6.3pm at the El Sol Bar Yes we actually started on time !!! However the representatives from Bar Nauta had to leave for work, The representative for The Target bar had to leave as his wife Julie had broken her wrist and he had to go to the hospital, The representative from the Barracuda was car sharing with the Target so had to leave. We all wish Julie a speedy recovery. 3. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING These were agreed as a true record. 4. Cozy Wanderers Tam informed the committee that he had a problem with his team, he now had only 3 players. He understood that he would have to loose 1 singles point, but hoped the committee would agree to him playing one player twice in the doubles and all three players twice in the trebles. He had asked all the teams they still had to play and so far they had no problem with this.
However Raf explained that he did not want to set a residence and allow the option to bend the rules. After some discussion about the situation 5 options were available to the committee. - Cozy Wanderers to be expelled from the league and all points after the half way point deducted
- The wanderers can play 1 singles match and 1 doubles match must be forfeited
- A permanent player was found from within the league for the last 4 games.
- Opposing teams to find a player to step in. (This is a person who can play darts!!!)
- The Wanderers are to find a player for each game.
However there was still concern that this could lead to other teams trying to cheat by sending the weakest players home after the singles had been completed, leaving just strong players. It was decided that a permanent player should be found, if this was not possible a temporary player found at the home or away venue. (Toscales and El Sol said this would not be a problem for them when the Wanderers visited) If no player could be found from the three options above 2 points would be forfeited. ALL IN FAVOUR 5. Missed games and Results:- Raf was glad to report that at last he was getting all results in time. Cancelled games. Due to various reasons, a number of games had been cancelled, teams were urged to try to get these games played as soon as possible, Sunday the 29th of June was also now available to complete un-played matches.

On the 18th of may also the Wanderers team will represent Exiles at La Bamba bar to be played at 2pm. (This is a friendly game) Teams failing to show up or showing up late:- A number of games had recently been affected by the late arrival of the visiting team, for the home team who prepare hot food this can be a big problem. Raf has contacted the teams involved and everyone should note if you are going to be late please, please, please telephone your opponents. Due to work commitments the Pig in the Dip will be about 30 minutes late for all away games, but they will telephone on the day just to remind the home team as some teams don’t read the minutes.. 6. Presentation Night 02 August 2008 SATURDAY The sub committee are pleased to announce that this years presentation night will be held at the Camping Nauta Site, between Palm Mar and Costa Selencio. The venue offers great facilities for both players and guests, prices are very reasonable and the Camping site are throwing in a Disco and Karaoke Compare for the evening at no extra charge. Here is the Schedule for the day. 3pm Blind Doubles KO, League players, guests and Campers are all welcome to play. 7pm Food will be served 8pm League Trophy Presentation and The Winners of the International Wild Bull event 9pm to Midnight - Karaoke and Disco There will be free drinks for players and maybe a little more this year. Take a look at their website. www.campingnauta.com7. Complaints Received:- Trebles in the matches. There are a few teams trying to put their best players in as many times as possible. The rules are simple if a player has played in the doubles or singles they must play in 1 Trebles. So teams of 4 need to change 1 player, teams of 5 need to change 2 players, teams of 6 or more need to change all 3 players for the second trebles game.
Teams must also write down the players in both trebles games before the either starts.
Hughy from Exiles said he had heard, from someone in the bar, that the Mannek Pis team had played both trebles with the same players, Raf pulled out the result sheet from this match and all agreed that no breach of the rules had occurred. NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED. 8. Teams dropping out. As most people are aware La Gramola dropped out of the league, in accordance with the rules all points achieved by teams playing them were scrubbed.
Vibes Bar, after a number of problems Raf felt it better that the Vibes team dropped out of the league for this season. The bar owner was in full agreement and would try to get a more reliable team for the next season.
2 bars have stepped in Camping Nauta and La Bamba, they will play friendly games until the end of the season. Please not that the La Bamba bar can not allow dogs on the premises as under Spanish law, may only admit Guide dogs. 9. Bars with 2 teams The outstanding entry fee for bars with 2 teams was collected in full. 10. TREBLES KNOCKOUT COMPETITION 57 players entered this year, so 2 venues would be selected with 10 teams at the first and 9 teams at the second. The committee felt that a blind draw would not be required for the trebles as most teams could travel together and would turn up.
The venues were drawn at random from those teams represented at the meeting and entering players in the competition.

Venue 2 La Bamba (no four legged dogs) -9 Trio's The draw was made for the Kevin The Mechanic sponsored trebles knockout. The prelim round start at 3pm, players must arrive by 3:30pm for a refund. However in exceptional circumstances if you are going to be late just call the venue. Some players wanted to swap venues but everyone agreed that that is the point of a draw and with the 2 venues been so close it seemed a pointless exercise. Swapping will not be made anymore what so ever. All Agreed 11. Photos Raf thanked those few bars who had bothered to send him photos for the website 12. NEXT MEETING The draw place, amongst the teams attending and Bar Los Toscales was drawn out as the venue, with the meeting to take place at 6:30pm, on the Monday the 30th of June. Captains or bar owners only are to attend. There is a lot to decide at this last meeting of the season, so everyone is urged to attend (Seating for 20 may be required). At the meeting we will draw the Cricket Knockout, the Unicorn Team HandicapTrophy Cup, The Finals Night including the trebles third and fourth play offs and any league play off that are required. Final details of the presentation night and information for next years teams, team refunds and much much more.. 13. There been no further business the meeting was closed at 7.50pm, the minutes will be produced in draft form and reviewed as a true record at the next meeting. As a footnote You can see that both the 1st and 2nd divisions are close with only 4 or 5 games to go. 8 teams could still win the first division and incredibly 4 teams are still in with a chance of winning the second division but almost every team with a good finish to the season could get one of those valuable promotion slots. Never have the leagues been so close.
