► In this first part of the season already many things have happened. Matches are cancelled, results have not been sent through (or incomplete) and players have been changing teams (we have made a rule on this – see below).

These are the open matches or matches wherefrom I didn’t receive the results (or incomplete).

Cosy Wanderers – El Sol A (21/6)

Pig i/t Dip – Cosy Wanderers (28/6)

Trapdoor A – Meercats (28/6)

Cosy Corner – Clansman (28/6)

Veronicas closed the bar and quit the league last week. Bar – Restaurante Les Gavines took over and will play until the end of the season on a friendly base. In case they will continue to play next season they will enter as a new team in the lowest division.

Les Gavines is situated by Res. Atlantic View behind Res. Albatros in Costa del Silencio. When you pass by Cosy Corner and Dollar Bar (on your left) then take the first on your right. Continue until the bend at Westhaven Bay than take the 2nd on your right. Tel. 922.73.01.76

► Help me up date our website. The last few days I’ve been busy by updating the website with everybody’s details but still there are many teams where I haven’t got the details from yet (Cosy Wanderers, El Sol A & B, Exiles, Pig i/t Dip, Piglets, Clansman, Flemish Lions, Killie Pies). Also other teams I haven’t got the full names, tel.nrs, etc.

I need at least first names and last names of every player. Preferable I also would like mobile nrs, email addresses, birthdays, pictures of the players individual, pictures of the team and bar. It’s important that the pictures are sharp, if not I don’t put them on the website and if possible digital. You can send them to my email or put them on a digital card or cd.Check your personal details on the site, in case something needs to be changed or added (birthdays I only have from a few people) please let me know.

For the players wherefrom I only received their first name I used the name of the bar as their last name, which looks stupid. In this case let me know the last name as well from these players.

► Committee Meeting’s decisions during last committee meeting on 1st July:

-         In case you have to cancel your match you have to do this 24h in advance. If you don’t, the opposing team can claim 8-0. But, don’t forget if you do claim the 8-0 you also lose your profit from that day in case you had a home game. Up to the opposing team to decide.

-         A player can only change once from team until the end of the 1st halfway of the season (= until 29th of August). As soon as we started the 2nd half on the 30th no changes are allowed anymore. So, every player that has already changed from team has to keep on playing for this team until the end of the season or not at all. New players are always allowed, even tourist can play.

-    Results are not always sent to me, or incomplete. At the last meeting I forgot to mention, especially for the new teams, that results need to be sent to me straight after the match and before both captains sign the captain’s book. So, the captain of the visiting team is also a little bit responsible for sending the results as he has to make sure that they are sent before he signs the sheet. You can send them to my mobile 696792794 or to my email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

If I receive results incomplete I can not publish them. Sometimes I receive results from the match only but not from the details of singles, doubles, trebles, 180’s or highest outs. Already a few 180’s and Highest Outs above 99 have not been sent through. Please, check your own result every week and let me know if something is not correct or missing.

Sending results is very simple, don’t make it too complicated. e.g. In case the home team loses with 2-6 I know enough with a text message: Barrac 2 – 6 Target: 1S + 1D. Or a draw 4-4 could be: 2-2, 2-0, 0-2. But again, don’t forget to mention the 180s and highest outs above 99.

► Because the Team Handicap Cup and the Finals are very important events we will draw them now so every bar who is capable having on of these events gets the opportunity to have it.

We need 2 venues for the Team Handicap Cup, 1 for the Men’s Finales and 1 for the Ladies Finales. After this is done we will draw the 1st KO Comp. of the season: the Lee Nolan’s Cup.

During this captains meeting we voted for keeping the finals day at Camping Nauta to give all the players the opportunity to play under normal circumstances because of the huge space of this venue and also the supporters would be very happy to watch the matches more comfortable: Everybody voted in favour.

At the committee meeting was decided to split up the biggest event of the year, Team Handicap Cup, in 4 venues instead of 2. This would give also to the smaller bars more chance to get drawn for an event and it would not make the event so busy as it always was before. Bistro las Artes, Whippys, Target and Trapdoor were the lucky winners.

► Lee Nolan’s Cup on Sunday the 12th of July 2009. I hope a lot of people will show their respect of this young

man and player of our league who died a few weeks ago.

Draws of the venues will be done following the entries.

During the committee meeting was decided to organize a Blind Doubles KO Comp. for the Lee Nolan Cup. It would make the event much nicer not knowing in advance who the partner and who the opposing team would be because this will all be drawn on the day of the event, like the committee suggested. It was a never seen success, 95  players were registered! 4 venues were drawn: Chipeque, Our Place, El Sol and Euromeat Piglets

► Next Captains meeting August 10th – 6.30 PM in bar El Sol We will draw the Singles Competitions

 (Men and Ladies separate).

To have a venue or a meeting in your bar you have to be present at the meeting where the draw takes place.
